Une chaleureuse bienvenue
à la 2ème édition des Chemins d'Art. Cette année, le
catalogue couvre 3 possibilités d'ateliers ouverts :
les Chemins d'Art printemps
du 17 au 24 mai
les Chemins d'Art automne
du 13 au 20 septembre
(horaires : 10h - 12h30/ 14h30 - 18h30)
et l'ouverture des ateliers des artistes disponibles
toute l'année.
Nous sommes ravies d'avoir 60% d'augmentation
du nombre d'artistes participants cette année
révélant une large palette de peinture, sculpture
et céramique, en passant par la gravure et la
photographie jusqu'à la ferronerie d'art, du travail
de mosaïque et de la joaillerie.
L'association Ateliers Ouverts a pour objectif
de découvrir et de promouvoir les créateurs
professionnels et originaux d'art et d'artisanat
d'art et de faire partager cette découverte au
public. Chemins d'Art 2008 donne la possibilité
d'aller au sein même de ces créations à la
rencontre de nombreux artistes dans le Gard
(voire même deux artistes à la frontière
ardéchoise et lozérienne) et de révéler des joyaux
de talent et de créativité.
Nous espérons que par le fait de partager un
moment avec l'artiste dans son atelier, entouré
de travail terminé ou en cours, d'avoir part
à ses idées et inspirations et de connaître ses
techniques, le visiteur va prendre conscience
de l'importance de l'atelier pour le processus
créatif. Ces chemins vont aussi vous guider
à travers les magnifiques paysages de notre
région (les Cévennes, le pays de Cèze, les Côtes
du Rhône, l'Uzège, le Piémont Cévenol, Nîmes
et la Garrigue). Repérez-vous aux panneaux et
affiches le long des circuits qui vous aident à
localiser les différents artistes.
Des adresses "Art de Vivre", en fin de catalogue,
recommandées par les artistes, vous permettent
de lier les chemins d'art aux découvertes du
patrimoine et des produits du terroir.

A warm welcome to the second Chemins d’Art.
This year, the Chemins d’Art 2008 catalogue
covers three elements involving open studios:
the spring opening of artists’ studios from
17 to 24 May, the autumn opening between
13 to 20 September, and those artists whose
studios will also be open throughout the year.
We are delighted to have a 60% increase in
the number of participating artists, providing
a range of work from paintings, limited
edition prints, sculpture, pottery, etchings and
photography, to metalwork and stoneware.
Association Ateliers Ouverts, organizers of
Chemins d’Art, exists to promote original,
professional creators of art and craft, and
to provide an opportunity for the public
to become involved in the arts by seeing
the work and how it is produced.
Chemins d’Art 2008 gives the public the
opportunity to visit the studios of many artists
working in the Gard (and two in the nearby
borders of Lozére and the Ardéche) and to
discover the hidden gems of creativity and
talent. We hope that by sharing the artists’
studios, surrounded by finished and unfinished
works, sharing the thoughts of their creators
and learning about their techniques and
inspirations, the visitor will become aware of the
importance of the studio in the creative process.
The routes in this catalogue also take the visitor
through some of the loveliest countryside of
our region: the Cévennes, the areas around the
rivers Céze and Gardon, the Côtes du Rhone,
the Uzès area and the district of Nîmes. We
have asked the artists to recommend some
of their favourite places to stop and take
refreshment, listed at the back of the catalogue.
We hope that this combination adds up to a
wonderful exploration of art, travel and food.
